The Hub Engineering department is responsible for providing technologies, competences, components and system solutions in the areas of blade pitching, Hub design and service.
The international team is located both in Denmark and abroad (Porto) still expanding to meet the demands of a vastly growing challenging business.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As a Hub development engineer your main focus will be to :
Design hubs with pitch system and components into a large and complex product i.e. wind turbines;
Work closely together in cross functional teams and in cooperation with international suppliers to provide optimum solutions;
Verify pitch systems and components by a wide range of test and calculation methods from aerospace and automotive;
Implement pitch systems and components into production;
Contribute to the development of the supply chain in close cooperation with Global procurement;
Drive VA / VE activities to optimize product cost to required performances;
Participate in estimating component life time;
Monitor performance of pitch systems on all installed turbines to reduce the cost of poor quality.
Main Areas of Responsibilities :
Identify requirements to the pitch system from top level specification;
Define interfaces to the other systems;
Design and specify components like hydraulic power unit, cylinders, electrical motors, accumulators, manifolds for extreme and fatigue loads;
Establish test protocols based on expected operation;
Influence and drive reliability-centered design decisions based on data;
Deploy solutions into specific turbine developments.
Act as system owner towards a specific turbine range i.e. evaluate change needs and proposals due to performance, cost or quality.
M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering in the related field of machine components, hydraulic (Mechatronic or similar)
Sound understanding of fundamental machine components and hydraulic;
Data evaluation expertise;
Enthusiastic about practical work on tests and verification as well as theoretical knowledge;
Has experience supply chain development in cooperation with Sourcing and Quality;
Preferably 2-5 years' experience with a larger organization dealing with complex products
Advanced level in English both in speaking and in writing;
Good communication skills
Team player that is able to lead and present his / her opinions;
Enthusiastic and engaged, willing to go the extra mile;
Six Sigma DMAIC / DfSS (an advantage);
Experience in ERP System (examples : Mapics, ECM, SAP) (an advantage);
Project management experience (an advantage);
