Springer Nature has a portfolio of over 3,000 peer-reviewed journals and books across all areas of science. The Content Acquisition (CA) Domain you’ll be joining is working on replacing legacy systems and processes across our imprints and working on creating a world-class submissions and peer review experience for our global audience of academic researchers and editorial staff.
Within the CA Domain sits the Submissions stream. Submissions represent the process of getting a manuscript from its authors to our editorial staff.
It is the connection between researchers and us as they begin their journey as an author.
Within the CA domain also sits the Oasis programme. The goal of the Oasis programme is to build a new solution for payment and licence agreements, supporting deals agreed between Springer Nature and research institutions.
As such it is a cornerstone of the CA domain, and encompases several products that serve a variety of users, including :
researchers submitting articles for publication.
administrators in institutions that pay for the publication of open-access research.
customer support staff.
Your work will involve creating front ends for the Oasis systems that seamlessly integrate into these different user journeys.
The team is multidisciplinary and includes product directors, front- and back-end developers, user experience researchers & designers, quality assurance, and business analysts.
Working across the Springer Nature imprints, you will work closely with editorial and operational staff and the wider CA product, design and development team.
The team is responsible for tactical work to keep our existing payment and rights systems up-to-date whilst also building new, replacement solutions.
What you’ll be doing
Day-to-day, we aim to keep the development as lean as possible - working towards delivering through incremental experimentation and learning.

Within 6 months
You will continue contributing front-end development expertise to the CA Domain.
You will be working with people in other parts of the business to ensure that user journeys are consistent across our sites.

Start familiarising yourself with the design system architecture the FED discipline is currently developing.
