Overall objective of the Role

The Payroll Country owner (PCO) is responsible to define the local payroll country set up of Alight Pay and the ongoing maintenance and health of the country solution.

The Payroll Country Owner (PCO) will provide expertise and outputs to deliver compliant country payroll calculations and legal compliance into the core pay engine and to maintain the Country standard ongoing.

The Payroll Country Owner role is essential to deliver a compliant payroll calculations and legal compliance and will be responsible for creating and maintaining :

  • Country Payroll Design Document describe scope and limitations. Serves as a functional design on which the payroll engine and calculation methods will be defined.
  • Country Calculation Workbook this includes the definition and formulas to calculate payroll. Covering the inputs needed to run payroll, the calculations that need to be performed, the validation runs and the key payroll account outputs. (GTN workbook)
  • Country Payroll Account Catalog this involves defining all the payroll account payments and deductions that are relevant for the country (euHReka defines this as wage types) and setting the payroll account groups.
  • Country Local Data Workbook defining the local data that is required to be collected to feed the calculations. These definitions feed the design of the local data forms.
  • The PCO defines the characteristics of each field, including values, dependencies, mandatory information, and validation rules.

  • Country Reporting Standards define the listing of standard reports for the country, maintain information on the data sources and correct configuration and provide samples for supporting onboarding of new client accounts.
  • Country Testing validating all created standards and rules through testing of created Country solution within Alight Pay.
  • Maintenance and Compliance continual review and update of Country Standard overtime to identify and adapt to legal changes and incorporate into all design documents, workbooks, and other material to maintain country compliance
  • Main Responsibilities

  • Owns the payroll solution for the country
  • Key point of contact for sales when a person is required to represent our payroll solution for that country
  • Monitor regulatory environment and ensure changes are understood, planned and incorporated into the Country payroll standards and workbooks
  • Maintain the L3s and L5s process documentation for country standard processing
  • Maintain all the Country Standard workbooks and documentation that states what is included in the standard deployment for the country in line with country legislative changes
  • Maintain the list of standard reports and samples
  • Maintain the forms documentation which states what is included in the standard deployment for the country
  • Support Country Payroll Teams in running payroll and providing tier 1 support and triage for all technical questions and problems
  • Managing and maintaining clear and informative communications to internal teams to support the efficient processing of Payrolls and Systems.
  • Work with relevant teams across Alight to ensure changes to the technical environment are understood, tested and that all documentation is updated to reflect those changes
  • Participates in activities as and when required
