The Role We are waiting for you!

As a member of the LSC team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the upskilling of more junior members and will be expected to act as an expert on WE / GB pensions’ topics as well as responsible for managing and mentoring more junior colleagues in the scope of our GB / WE operations.

In addition, you will add value to the company by performing the following tasks :

  • Act as an expert for all technical matters related to the WE / GB pensions world
  • Keep up to date with developments in the WE / GB pensions market, including new legislation and other factors that may impact the work at the LSC, and cascade knowledge by the team
  • Demonstrates sound grasp of complex methodologies & concepts utilitises, through technical review
  • Be an advocate for excellence and help consolidate a culture of continuous improvement
  • Carry out non-standard scheme benefit calculations and involvement in wider actuarial work
  • Work in close partnership with management to ensure issues are identified in timely manner and solutions are actioned promptly

    The Requirements What do we expect from you?

    We are looking for a highly-driven individual, FIA qualified or making good exam progress, with strong numerical and interpersonal skills, who is looking to become part of a large and dynamic work environment.

    The essential experience for this role is :

    At least 5 years’ experience doing core actuarial valuation work and / or actuarial consultancy

  • Solid knowledge and experience of Western Europe and UK Defined Benefits (DB) Pensions, the complexities and legislative requirements surrounding Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP)
  • Or any combination of experience in those schemes valuations, individual calculations and GMP exercises
  • Strong analytical, numerical and critical thinking skills, including a good understanding of actuarial approaches for pensions
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a large team and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment towards targets
  • Capacity and desire to coach and upskill more junior members of the team
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Inquisitive, self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity and proactivity thinking outside of the box
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or a related field
