About the job

Our goal is to provide the best post-price ticketing user experience and grow our user base. Providing a good user experience is a challenge that requires a lot of thought and understanding of our users.

You will work with designers and engineers to find ways of improving our apps and create a delightful user experience. FAIRTIQ has a growing user base of 200K+ active users, so you will have to think about scalability, caching, internationalisation, accessibility, phased roll-outs and resilience.

Here are some real examples of recent work that might help you get a better idea of what this job entails :

  • Designing and building Smart Stop together with Product Owners, UX designers and engineers from other teams. This is a great example of cross-team collaboration that challenged and helped us improve the way we work with each other
  • Designing and building a Credit History to help users understand how they are spending their money with us
  • Setting up automated nightly UI tests for iOS 12 (yes, if you own an iPhone 6 we have you covered)
  • Helping Customer Care diagnose an issue with the iPhone clock that prevented users to find stations to check in
  • Adding support for importing travel cards stored in SwissPass cards
  • Helping Product Owners and the Marketing team understand the recent changes in user privacy and the impact they will have on their work
  • Translating the apps to Dutch
  • About you

    You should be excited about working on similar projects. We don't expect you to be able to answer every question across all areas immediately, or know how all the systems work from day one.

    If you have solid fundamentals with software development (e.g. object-oriented design), with iOS in particular (Swift, UIKit), troubleshooting and teamwork, that’s a good start.

    You might have a CS degree. You might not. That’s OK. We care about what you can do and how you do it, not about how you got here.

    Main requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or another related field
  • 1 years of work experience
  • Deep knowledge of iOS
  • Very good knowledge of mobile architectures and systems
  • Strong software design skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Good team player
  • Creative, self-confident, independent
  • Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Good English speaking and writing skills
  • Nice to have

  • Kknowledge of Android is a plus
