Develops the role of specialist in ergonomic supporting all functions within our company. Runs the implementation of Health and Safety best practices, collaborating to ensure the Company complies with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision.
Dedicated to work proactively with all the plant to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and customers.
Collaborating to the Business Continuity planning process, to ensure that disruption to the Company’s critical functions is minimized.
Provide ergonomic assessments, observing, analyzing and documenting the movements and actions of workers.
Provide guidance to all areas for implementing improvements and best practices regarding ergonomics.
Conduct and implement improvements in all areas of the organization.
Train and coach all employees in ergonomic and related areas.
Promote that health, safety and security working conditions are followed within BorgWarner.
Taking an active role on the Implementation of policies, procedures and systems to provide for a safe and secure business operation.
Support other H&S technicians in analyzing workplace risks.
Enforce safe working practices and ensure lost time incidents are kept to a minimum.
Train workers on proper procedures and body positioning to prevent injuries.
Apply the overall Company’s standards and guidelines on Safety Management.
Perform regular audits and monitor Safety Management performance to identify areas for improvement, and ensure that appropriate corrective or preventative actions are taken, including follow-up reviews.
Preparation of statistics pertaining to Safety Management for use by Company personnel and outside agencies.
Participates in accident / incident investigation and reporting.
Promotes that all safety issues are managed fulfilling the requirements of all the regulations applicable by international standards and National laws as appropriate.
Identify that emergencies are handled fulfilling the requirements of the regulations applicable nationally & internationally.
Bachelor s degree in physiotherapy , biomechanics, occupational health, human engineering (or related)
Master's degree in Occupational Safety and Environment will be a plus.
3-5 years minimum related experience is required. Preferred experience in manufacturing companies
High proficiency level in English
High proficiency level in Portuguese.
Auditing techniques (Internal Auditor or equivalent).
Must have considerable problem solving skills including troubleshooting ability and be able to make decisions without having all of the information available.
Must have professional interpersonal communication skills.
