This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and overseeing the successful operation of one or more ships crew related matters, he / she will act as a liaison between the corporate office, manning agencies and vessels to offer an exceptional service to our crew and internal customers.
The Crew Manager will be responsible for Human Resources ? Seagoing Personnel for approximately 400 crew in 2020 and growing to 1000+ crew by 2022 represented by 25+ nationalities.
Manning, Planning and Scheduling of crew & officer?s rotations one year in advance;
Forecast recruitment requirements and ensures compliance of all the hires;
Global recruitment strategies with our worldwide manning partners;
Contract review and administration of seafarers
Manage all the on-board crew processes, recruitment and on boarding, certifications, contracts and leave activities;
In charge for the timely delivery of appraisals for on board personnel, including auditing the appraisals procedures making sure there is continuous improvement;
In charge of crew travel, transportation and accommodation is organized accordingly and in line with budget requirements;
Ensures Mystic Cruises complies with maritime rules and regulations as applicable by Flag, MLC and STCW;
Works closely with various departments and DPA in the elaboration and auditing of the SMS;
Creates and maintains job descriptions for all the positions on board seeking approval from each department;
Assists in the development, implementation and administration of the Seagoing IT systems;
Communicates with the crew in all crew related matters such sign on, sign off dates, payroll, certifications, crew inquires, etc;
In charge of crew payroll, defines checks and balances and effectively monitors internal controls in conjunction with Corporate Human Resources;
Manages a team of deck & engine and hotel personnel coordinators;
Works closely with the Marine & Technical and Hotel Operations teams;
Promotes the amazing philosophy onboard.
Experience we are looking for :
Ocean cruise operation experience is a must;
5 or more years in positions with exposure to crew planning, management and crew payroll;
Advanced spreadsheet and computer skills;
Analytical skills, financial analysis and budget planning;
Experience with Adonis HRIS preferred;
Experience managing a team in house and remotely;
Education and Qualifications :
Educated to degree level (i.e. : Business, Marketing, Finance) or related work experience;
CHRP qualified is preferred but not essential;
Personal Traits :
Excellent communicator at all levels;
Loyal and discrete;
Must have advanced verbal and written communication skills in English;
Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and able to work with little supervision;
Customer service driven;
Must be willing to travel ? 30%;
Able to work from home as required;
