The Brazing Global AME Technician is responsible for and expected to support the Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineer on the development, industrialization, installation, training of the plant personnel, continuous improvement of brazing process and provide technical support and guidance in the brazing process of various similar and dissimilar materials.
Key roles and responsibilities :
Develop / Assist Brazing methods / Processes for joining similar or dissimilar materials.
Troubleshoot all of the engineering and Manufacturing related issues regarding Brazing.
Advises engineering on technical brazing aspects.
Create operation specific Standards, requirements and BOPs for Brazing of various metals and products.
Establishes and preserves documented brazing procedures.
Design of Jig and Fixtures, manufacturing / assembly / processing equipment and processes involving products made of aluminum and / or stainless steel both for prototypes and mass production phases
Define Inspection criteria for pre and post joining.
Provide technical support for Supplier development activities.
Assist in the procurement of capital equipment.
Developing / Producing Prototype parts
Coordinate and perform special studies such as DOE’s.
Provide technical support and training to different project and manufacturing teams.
Support BW globally on new product launches including manufacturing strategies, cost estimates and feasibility studies
Ensure that effective documentation and control systems are developed, utilized and maintained.
Resolve issues through robust problem-solving methodology such as 8D, 5-why, etc.
Knowledge and Abilities :
Experienced in Brazing process and fundamentally strong in Brazing technologies.
Proficient in relaying information to Suppliers via e-mail and voice communications.
Proficient in relaying technical information to Customers via e-mail and voice communications.
Self-discipline in the areas of organization and time management.
Performs brazing on difficult production and prototype instrumentation piece parts.
Understands brazing drawings and specifications.
Knowledge in Process Control systems and software.
Properly uses shop / hand tools, welding equipment and other equipment required to complete tasks.
Understands Maintenance Programs, specially Preventive Maintenance of machine tools, brazing equipment, etc.
Performs process inspections and audits.
Complies with applicable elements of quality systems.
Good English language skills (spoken and written)
Availability to travel approx. 50% of time
Education & experience :
Metallurgical and or Technical education
2-5 years related work experience
Proficient with MS Office
