A call for one research fellowship is open, in the framework of the S4Plast project Sustainable Plastics Advanced Solutions (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-046089), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, through Portugal 2020 (PT2020), and by the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020), in the following conditions :

Scientific area : Materials.

Admission requirements : Masters in materials or similar areas, attending a PhD course at a Portuguese higher education institution or enrolled in a non-academic degree course.

Preferential conditions : knowledge in physical properties of nanomaterials in particular in plastic products (eg engineering for intelligent manufacturing).

Courses not conferring an academic degree are the courses referred to in paragraph e) of paragraph 3 of article 4 of Decree-Law no.

74 / 2006, of 24 March, in their wording current, provided that they are developed in association or cooperation between the higher education institution and one or more R&D units, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph e) of article 3 of the Regulation for Research Grants of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Technology, IP

In the case of masters who are enrolled in non-academic degree courses, the scholarship can only be awarded to those who do not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of two years in this type of contract, followed or interpolated .

Work plan : This scholarship aims to develop research work in the context of an ongoing project.

It is intended to recruit a fellow to :

  • Collaborate essentially in carrying out studies to change the optical and sensory properties of plastics used in the mobility industry;
  • Participate in meetings with the companies and partners involved in the project, as well as in the collection of alternatives to synthetic nanoparticles, that is, nanoparticles resulting from other manufacturing processes, considered as waste;
  • Collaborate in writing scientific reports and publications, as well as in the various administrative tasks of the project.

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL Engineering : Master Degree or equivalent
  • Skills / Qualifications
