Reporting to the Director of Product Management and R&D, the Product Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific works directly with customers and sales personnel to understand the existing and future customer needs of the marketplace, and uses that knowledge to support development of portfolio strategies, fiscal planning for future products, growth, marketing materials and customer-driven evolution of product roadmaps.
This includes collecting and analyzing market research data, historical sales, collaborating with other divisions to leverage market intelligence for related products.
The Product Manager is ultimately responsible for revenue, margin, meeting NPI AOP, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives.
Market Intelligence - Conducts market research to identify industry trends, customer requirements, and future NPI. Partner with Market Development to use regionally specific voice of customer insights to contribute to development of campaigns and marketing programs that address identified opportunities.
Portfolio Strategy ? develops multi-year product roadmap and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of product platforms.
The Product Manager is responsible for revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, growth and market share objectives.
Product Champion - acts as product ambassador, liaises with internal stakeholders, regional teams, and directly with key accounts through training and active participation in the sales process, including customer visits, product value proposition, pricing tactics, and customer support.
Product Launches ? leading cross-functional teams, the Product Manager drives successful product launches through Product Commercialization Process (PCP), development of selling proposition, competitive battle cards and training materials.
Life Cycle Management ? develops and executes product life cycle strategy including price and discontinuations to ensure seamless customer experience and smooth revenue transition.
Value Proposition ? creates compelling value propositions that match our core business strengths to market needs. Co-create with Market Development messaging to stimulate demand and increase customer loyalty.
Global Alignment - collaborates with regional Product Managers in APAC, Marketing and Sales as needed to ensure voice of customer and voice of regional sales is incorporated into global portfolio strategy.
Business reviews ? monitors competitive dynamics and conducts portfolio performance reviews.
Training ? develops and delivers training, including competitive responses for all sales channels.
Other Duties - projects maybe assigned at the discretion of the Business Leadership
Minimum Qualifications (must have) :
Bachelor?s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline.
Proven experience Product Management Role
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Strong computer skills (Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word)
Experience with financial modeling and data analysis skills. Ability to build and analyze models to forecast and track results.
Understanding of product life cycle managements
Ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure and partner seamlessly within the organization.
Up to 15% travel required both domestic and international
