We re Hiring : Applications Manager Trucks (f / m), Sintra

Mercedes-Benz Trucks is hiring an Applications Manager to be part of the future IT Team. The position will have an Iberian scope, with support to both Portugal and Spain and the candidate will report to the Iberian IT Manager.

The Applications Manager will be responsible, to deliver application management and support processes throughout the whole application lifecycle, ensuring the provision of high effective, reliable and efficient solutions to highly satisfied business users.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Develop, maintain and utilise your expert understanding of the business use, application landscapes & integration, data dependencies and support processes, to enable you to effectively lead and collaborate with the business, IT functions (central, regional & local) and external vendors, in delivering applications management and operations tasks
  • Knowledge about architecture, connections and IT infrastructure topics. Support and manage any IT infrastructure topic it could happen with the application or its environment.
  • Drive the adoption and continual evolution to ensure effective operation of incident, request & problem management processes to achieve timely resolution and restoration of a stable and complete application service;
  • Establish & perform service performance reporting to equip stakeholders with the insight to gauge the effectiveness and performance of the solutions verses agreed expected SLA’s, in order to develop the service quality improvements;
  • Establish and perform supplier management processes with solution providers to ensure effective management of the relationship, the commercial agreements, service costs, service quality against agreed SLA’s;
  • Management and coordination of the acceptance of changes to the solutions, providing live business services to protect the integrity and effectiveness of the application;
  • Lead collaboration with solution owners, providers, & change delivery teams to identify opportunities to improve the users’ experience;
  • Lead and manage the delivery of release, small change, bug fixes, patches to resolve issues with running solutions, maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the application and to minimise the impacts of disruption.
  • Qualifications

    Professional Skills :

  • First Degree in IT related subject
  • Good working knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Good knowledge of IT technologies, architectures.
  • IT infrastructure and data management ( Virtual platforms, DBs, middleware, backups, Cloud, networking, )
  • Well experienced expert in the use of IT Service Management Skills (Incident, Request, Problem & Change), at least 2 years’ experience
  • Knowledge with technology supporting our Joint Priorities (FOSS, DevOps, Cloud, API, IAM)
  • Knowledge of waterfall and Agile project management methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience in coordinating complex change and harmonization projects
  • Good working knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and VISIO
  • Fluent in English, both written and Spoken
  • Excellent knowledge of vendor management and consolidation
  • Knowledge of automation technology trends & applications
  • Experience in coordinating complex change and harmonization projects
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • Preference for Infrastructure IT Certifications, Cloud, Security, software development techniques;
