Job Overview and ResponsibilitiesReporting into the Technical Sales Representative, the person in this role will have a leading role in the realization of the Mineral Processing business growth objective for the Mediterranean region.Job Description
The candidate’s primary objective is to provide best in class technical service and customer support in the use of our products and to ensure the Regional Sales Manager is supported, informed and assisted to achieve the commercial objectives of the Mineral Processing business
Support new prospects and existing business by conducting lab work to explore new opportunities
Lead or support site trial activities (pre, during and post) for new (NPI) and existing products.
Establish and maintain multi-level contacts at customer sites, in a planned and disciplined manner so as to facilitate the timely execution of project plans through sound commercial relationships.
Take the lead on collecting customer data, conduct analysis and provide recommendation to the Regional Sales Manager to advance projects and / or exploit new opportunities
Complete or participate in the establishment of Account plans and their execution
Support customers and sales representatives in resolving non-routine technical issues and troubleshooting.
Apply and safeguard the application of Solvay’s and all safety regulations in all circumstances
Ensure compliance to internal reporting requirement including but not limited to call report / service report / call out report / monthly highlight / trial proposal / trial report ...
Comply with all Solvay policies such as code of conduct, anti-bribery, anti-trust, business travel expense guidelines,
Education and ExperienceA successful candidate will :
Possess a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, metallurgy or chemistry.
At least 5 years of relevant technical experience.
Hands on lab skills to conduct lab testing are essential
Be a self-motivated individual with skills in critical thinking and problem solving
Demonstrate good technical and commercial sense with a high focus on value selling
Desire to build excellent customer relationships while promoting Solvay products to the benefit of the client.
A successful candidate may :
Be a strong team player with a focus on delivering results on targets
Demonstrate a self starter and hunter personality
Be comfortable with working in a home office environment and remotely
Be willing to travel or be on customer site at least 50% of his time
Able to operate in a global and virtual organization.
Communicate well in written and spoken English, mastering Spanish and / or Portuguese is a must
