The Finance team at Marley Spoon is growing, with a mission to provide business partnership using best-in class financial data and analysis.

Our aim is to help the company make the right, fact-based decisions to move the business forward. As part of this effort, we are now looking for an exceptional A / P Officer!

What we are looking for :

The ideal candidate is an analytical detail-oriented individual who will process our accounting records for our operations in the United States.

You will be responsible for maintaining some accounts payables routines (e.g. registering invoices and credit notes, reconciling ledger and vendor statements, communicating internally with business departments, and interacting externally with vendors) under the US Senior Accountant’s supervision.

The ideal candidate will serve as the right hand to the US Senior Accountant on all accounts payables matters.

What you will do :

This is a hands-on role that will support the finance team for the US segment of Marley Spoon. Expected tasks will include :

Support the Senior Accountant in owning the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities of the US segment

Register invoices (First-In, First-Out) timely and accurately according to the Group’s accounting policies and instructions given by the Accounting, Controllership, and FP&A teams

Partner with the Controllership and FP&A teams to check missing invoices

Review vendor ledger entries and investigate issues with a high level of accuracy

Investigate differences between vendor statements and ledger details

Communicate clearly and efficiently with internal and external stakeholders

Maintain internal standards, processes and routines based on group requirements and introduce new processes / improvements as deemed appropriate

The US is Marley Spoon’s largest region and as such brings with it a fair amount of complexity :

Three fulfillment centers in CA, TX, and NJ

Three brands (Martha Stewart & Marley Spoon, Dinnerly, Bezzie)

Matriced functions

Who you will work with :

You will work side-by-side with our fulfilment center (FC) support teams, based in New Jersey, Texas, and California, ranging from procurement to inventory management, helping bridge the gap between finance and daily FC operations.

Additionally, you will interact with the global Marley Spoon finance team, especially the centralized accounting function based in Berlin, Germany.

Requirements

Who we believe can excel in this role :

An individual with :

Relevant work experience in Finance, Accounting and / or Controllership functions

Experience in consumer products / manufacturing environments preferred

Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment where change is constant

Clear communication style

Eye for detail while being able to take a step back and understand the bigger picture

Proactive, solution-oriented problem solver

Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization with the US time zone

Proficient in English

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Finance / Accounting required

Proficiency with Microsoft Business Central (BC) or Navision preferred
