You will be part of a key organization within Vestas R&D by joining our Power System Integration area. In Power System Integration we span across being in very close interaction with the market as well as being involved in various innovation activities with external collaborators while focusing on product development as our main goal.

Within Power System Integration we aim to develop Vestas' relevant products and solutions by significantly relying on innovative in-house developed software solutions that allow us to deliver reliably and efficiently to our customers.

Core outputs in Power System Integration include the design of the electrical infrastructure of Vestas renewable power plants, the Vestas Power Plant Controller, and electrical simulation models of wind turbines, utilizing the department's core competencies within Software Engineering.

Electrical Models is a department within Power System Integration whose main focuses include the development of Vestas' software and automation tools that add good value to our business.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in Electrical Models, you will report to the Manager of Electrical Models. Your main responsibilities and tasks will be :

  • Developing windows desktop applications to support our Electrical Models Team with a focus on our electrical simulation models, plant control, and other relevant products and solutions for Vestas
  • Support our Vestas Model Library web application, where we deliver our electrical models to our internal costumers
  • Developing internal software tools and scripts to enhance productivity and reliability of our Electrical Models Team
  • Software engineering activities in optimizing the model development and validation processes by using in-house testing SW and validating against field measurements
  • Ensure performance and quality of electrical simulation models of our wind turbines and plant controllers, through development, testing and validation by developing advanced software solutions
  • Software engineering activities in optimizing the electrical simulation model development and validation processes
  • Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical and Computers Engineering
  • Experience with software engineering
  • Programming Skills (C++ / .NET / C#)
  • Knowledge of software development tools (Jira, SourceTree, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
  • MS SQL database knowledge will be an added value
  • Experience in the development of WPF applications is an added value
  • Experience in Angular 8 is an added value, but not mandatory
  • Experience with power system engineering is an added value but not mandatory
