As a Floating Loads and Control Engineer you will be responsible for :
Delivering design loads, power curves, and noise assessments
Perform product level design studies within loads, including blade design iterations, tower iterations, wind turbine aeroelastic stability, etc;
Support the certification process of wind turbines, including performing the load test campaign in the prototype wind turbine
Development and validation of wind turbine aeroelastic models
Drive the technical aspects of loads development for a specific product from feasibility state to full validation and certification stage
Risk management activities, such as failure mode and effect analysis
Development of code / scripts and improvement of processes to ensure a lean and efficient execution.
You must have :
MSc. or PhD. In Mechanical / Aerospace / Aerodynamics Engineering from an accredited university
1-5 years of work experience within wind turbine design industry or at MSc. / PhD level
Experience with aeroelastic tools, load calculations
Dynamic and aeroelastic modeling experience, preferably using wind turbine codes such as FAST, HAWC, FLEX or similar tools;
Programming skills in Matlab and / or Python
You may have :
Previous industrial / academic (at MSc or PhD level) experience in Offshore floating structure analysis, aero-elasticity and / or multi-body dynamics
Experience on Aero-hydro-elastic modelling of wind turbine on floating support structure
Experience in modelling of mooring lines (e.g. Orcaflex)
Understanding of the standardization codes for wind turbines such as IEC 61400-1 / 3-1 / 3-2
Knowledge of basic wind turbine control strategies
You are pro-active, result oriented and have a strong sense of responsibility
You are able to meet your deadlines with the right quality
You have a creative approach to new challenges
You succeed as part of a team and it comes naturally to you to collaborate and share knowledge
You have good communication skills and are fluent in English (speaking and writing)
