Role Summary / Purpose
As Wind Commissioning Engineer you will be part of GE’s Renewables OnShore Wind Projects organization. You will be responsible to perform commissioning and service activities on wind turbine generators (WTG) and its ancillary equipment (SCADA etc.
throughout the EMEA and SSA region
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
The role includes, among others, the following responsibilities
Commission and service wind turbine equipment and ensure it works to its specification
Carryout and perform trial-run operations and equipment test procedures
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical or system
Keep records, maintain documentation (DCR, dPro, PAC) and report as required by company policy
Collaborate with installation / project / engineering and other functions
Support GE’s revenue recognition process (ACS 606) at site level
Make improvements to and offer advice about operational procedures
Support and facilitate on the job trainings (OJT)
Maintain and follow safety and quality procedures as required by company policy
Qualifications / Requirements
Degree as qualified / certified electrical engineer / technician or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
Relevant professional experience performing all aspects of Commissioning work at WTG
Demonstrated skill-set and experience as per GE training matrix for Commissioning (applies to internal candidates)
Ability and confidence to work at height (includes physical fitness to climb) as per G41 or similar standard
Capable of working at remote sites in adverse weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold, wind, altitude)
Ability and willingness to travel and work domestically and internationally as required
Ability and willingness to work on weekends, public-vacation, shift-work or on-call duty as required
Valid / clean driving license (EU class B, BE)
English fluency, particularly with technical explanations (Level B2)
Unrestricted EU work permit
If contracted in Spain : Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country : NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain.
They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
