Job Summary

The Engineering Technician will contribute to the performance of the hotel by maintaining, operating and repairing all aspects of the hotel’s mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.

He / She will attend to guest repair requests and performs preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen, mechanical room equipment in the Hotel.

Main Duties

  • Performs day to day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms.
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise.
  • Executes the preventative maintenance schedule and ensure all equipment and designated areas are maintained to the Wyndham required standard.
  • Assists in the implementation of energy conservation program.
  • Maintains all tools, equipment and working areas in good condition.
  • Flags any major problem / emergency such accidents and so on to the direct supervisor / head of department.
  • Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
  • Prioritizes engineering service requests to ensure guest convenience and satisfaction.
  • Ensures that engineering and work areas are in order and clean condition.
  • Regularly examines, tests and maintains safety systems to protect guests, employees and assets.
  • Keeps a professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests and team members at all times.
  • Other Duties

  • Exchanges and repairs electrical installations and equipment
  • Displays basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories : air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing kitchen equipment and so on.
  • Tests, troubleshoots and performs basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing.
  • Completes safety training and certifications.
  • Ensures that uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times.
  • Is able to work in a multi-cultural team.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with Team Members.
  • Liaises with the housekeeping and engineering coordinator to prioritize jobs and provides feedback on status of repairs and time require to perform the job.
  • Acts as a rapid response resource to reported faults and emergency situations
  • Is a team player and provides effective day to day communication with Team Members to provide exceptional engineering services.

  • Ideally 2 years in similar role
  • Certificate in engineering or in a relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of fire & life safety
