Important international company dedicated to the extrusion of plastic film, leader in its market segment, is currently looking for an Tax & Treasury Manager for its Portugal subsidiary, for its plant in Portugal (Arcos de Valdevez).

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

The Accounting Manager supervises Accounting department, Supplier, Treasury, Taxes and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger, financial reporting, year end audit and tax support.

The Accounting Manager will have contact with Supplier, Banks, External and Internal Consultants, Auditors and also Tax Authorities.

Duties and responsibilities :

  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Support External and Internal Audits.
  • Ensure an accurate Tax reporting, monthly, quarterly and year end.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of treasury transactions and forecast.
  • Understand, manage, and supervise all aspects of cash flow.
  • Forecast daily cash requirements and execute daily financing decisions
  • Manage relationships with financial service providers.
  • Monitor bank service fees and address quality issues.
  • Meet with cash management banks to plan cash management
  • Prepare or monitor company?s various cash flow forecasts and perform financial modeling.
  • Evaluate, develop and implement cash management systems to optimize efficiencies.
  • Conduct benchmark studies of banks and their services
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Monitors and analyzes department workflow to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance and other finance managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests.
  • Work with Accounting team to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
  • Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Provide support when needed to all company departments.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Support Finance Director with special projects and workflow process improvement.

  • Education : High degree in Economics

    Experience : at least 5 years of experience in administration and finance area in Industry

    Languages : English, Spanish, Portuguese
