CALL FOR RESEARCH GRANT
A call for one research fellowship is open, in the framework of the project ActiVas - Ambientes Construídos para uma Vida Ativa, Segura e Saudável (reference : POCI-01-0247-FEDER-046101) BIM1, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) through the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020), and Lisbon Regional Operational Program 2014 / 2020 (LISBOA2020), in the following conditions :
Scientific area : Electrical and Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Electronic, Informatics or others.
Admission requirements : MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Electronic, Informatics or in related Engineering areas.
Applicants must be enrolling in a program or, alternatively, in non-academic degree courses integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.
The non-dregree courses must be related with the Research Grant’s type of activity. Courses not conferring an academic degree are the courses referred to in paragraph e) of number 3 of article 4 of Decree-Law no.
74 / 2006, of 24 March, in the current wording, provided that they are developed in association or cooperation between the higher education institution and one or more R&D units, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph e) of article 3 of the Regulation of Research Grants of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, .
Work plan : Research and development of behaviour management algorithms including deep learning applied to interactive artificial agents.
Regime : The attribution of the fellowship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime.
The fellow is granted with the Fellow Statute of the UC, in its current wording, according to the Statute of the Scientific Research Fellow, and according to the Regulation of Research Grants of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, both in their current wording.
Location : Institute of Systems and Robotics at the University of Coimbra.
Duration : Six months
Renewal : Possibly renewable, by agreement between both parties, not being allowed to exceed the project’s deadline.

Financial conditions : The amount of the grant is € corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table (), plus social security (Seguro Social Voluntário, first level contributions) and personal accidents insurance.
The payment will be made by bank transfer. This amount will not be increased during the entire period of the grant duration.

Each criterion will be classified in a scale from 0 to 5 and the final grade (NF) will be given according the formula NF 0,6 x AC + 0,4 x E.
AC 0,4 x A + 0,2 x B + 0,4 x C
E 0,5 x B + 0,5 x C
If none of applicants have a final grade higher than 2,6 this grant is closed without any hiring.
