To take us to the next level, we are looking for a Data Scientist with expertise and unrivalled enthusiasm for statistical models and building mission-critical dashboards to contribute to enriching our product and realize the future of retail.

You will play a key role in the establishment of a new platform, with opportunities to create enormous benefits for Sensei customers.

You will design and implement data insights to fit various use cases, research and deploy machine learning algorithms.

Sensei is a pioneer in Autonomous Stores technology. Our mission is to fundamentally improve the shopping experience in the world, through intelligent software that promises to eliminate checkout from stores and automate retail operations.

We are engaged with multiple retailers and are in the process of deploying our first Autonomous Stores across Europe.

What you'll do

Design experiments and determine appropriate statistical approaches to answer questions about the accuracy and efficiency of our AI models as well as data collection and annotation processes.

Provide the company with ad-hoc analysis and visualization, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools that will guide day-to-day retail operations, planning, and strategic decision-making.

Set up, maintain, and scale our data engineering infrastructure.

Partner across stakeholders to define measurement approaches and develop KPIs to guide tracking efforts for ongoing measurement and reporting.

Iterate on your work and analyses to generate ever-better questions to answer.

Who you are

  • 3+ years of industry experience in data science broadly;
  • Expert knowledge of a scientific computing language (R, Python) with an emphasis on statistical packages like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, etc.;
  • Strong knowledge of statistics (clustering, regression, etc.) and experimental design
  • Experience processing large structured / unstructured datasets in Spark or other related tools;
  • Experience with writing and maintaining ETL jobs for ingesting data across systems;
  • Comfort with BI and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker etc.);
  • MSc / PhD in a field that emphasizes statistics and data analysis (e.g., computer science, physical sciences, math, engineering, or statistics), or equivalent work experience;
