The Work You’ll Do
As the technical writer for the Connect Once API, our universal API framework for VAT, you’ll empower development teams across the globe with clear, accessible and thorough API documentation.
With a passion for technology and a knack for simplifying the complex, you’ll own the creation and maintenance of content that helps development and integration teams be successful.
Ideally, you’ll have experience documenting APIs and working closely with technical teams, distilling usage data into actionable insights, and working in a supportive but fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Most importantly, we hope you have strong empathy for the developer user and an understanding of the importance of content in creating quality experiences that drive success for Sovos customers.
Key responsibilities :
Drive partner and customer engagement and success through content that is simple, accessible, and thorough
Own the success of our global API documentation platform, leveraging analytics, user feedback and support ticket data to improve usability and effectiveness of content
Build and maintain microservice documentation (best practices, recipes) for internal development teams
Create and publish release notes, translating technical updates into outcome-focused announcements
Work with other technical writers around the world to ensure that all user-facing content is aligned with our global tone and voice
Develop and implement templates that can incorporate content from our regulatory teams, other tech writers, marketing, etc.
What we need from you
Experience building, working with or writing content for APIs
It’s not required, but we love to see experience in :
Creating API documentation for a global user base
Editing content to make it more accessible and easier to understand
Working closely with cross-functional teams
Producing quality content within a tight deadline
An understanding of what accessibility means, and how it applies to user-facing content
A portfolio of work demonstrating your fit for the position
Enjoys finding the right words to communicate complex ideas simply
