About the job
The e-FIC Rates Team carries out quantitative research in electronic trading of G10 Rates products (swaps and bonds). Its aim is to provide fully automated solutions for market making
The role will be in Lisbon or Porto, Portugal, working within a team of finance professionals supporting BNPP Global Market activities globally
A training in London may be provided at the beginning of the role in order to become familiar with the setup and to build relationships with other team members
Your Main Activities Are
Design and develop algorithmic pricing, quoting, risk management and execution tools to help automate BNPP’s FIC market making activities
Conduct research and analysis using historical datasets to develop models behind the automation tools
Interact with Trading, Sales and IT to ensure a timely delivery of projects to all interested parties' standards
Continuously improve existing models to adapt to an ever-changing market landscape
Provide technical guidance and support to the e-trading quant teams
Design and maintain core modular components of the framework used by the e-teams to construct high-performance cross-asset market applications
Investigate the use of new / experimental technologies to improve the group’s workflow and products
Profile and Skills to Success
Master Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or any other science / engineering field with a strong interest in finance modelling and programming
Fluency in English both oral and written (mandatory)
Fluency in mathematics, ideally knowledge of statistics and stochastic calculus
Interest in financial instruments
Very good skills in Python, and ideally knowledge of a compiled programming language (Java, C++, C# or equivalent)
Good understanding of computer science : algorithms, complexity, etc
Ability to prioritize workloads & use a proactive approach to meet deadlines
Accuracy and absolute attention to detail required

Global Markets Quantitative Research and Engineering (GMQRE) is a highly motivated team of financial engineers and computer scientists based in Lisbon and Porto, researching and performing quantitative engineering on diverse cross asset topics in equity, interest rates, credit, FX and XVA
We work on innovative financial models, contribute to pricing libraries, maintain and implement the architecture of closely-knit systems driving the booking and valuation framework of the bank
Along with the data engineers of Global Client Analytics (GCA) and the GM Data and Artificial Intelligence Lab, we are more than 40 high caliber engineers part of the Global Markets Front Office and we collaborate closely with Trading, Sales, Risk and IT across APAC, EMEA and Americas on daily basis
