FCCN is the unit of FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology - whose main mission is to provide the Portuguese academic and research communities with the technological means that allow them to produce science and knowledge of excellence.

What we do?
In FCCN's Scientific Knowledge Area, our main mission is to ensure that the teaching and research community has access to prestigious scientific information sources;
promote open access to national scientific production and streamline the management and access to information on science and technology in Portugal, through structuring programs of articulation between information systems to support science and teaching activities.

FCCN seeks motivated and interested people in the technological area, who will join a team highly specialized in serving the national education and science community, developing quality and innovative services, whose purpose is to boost the functioning and success of the entities that are part of the higher education and research system.
To help us in this mission we intend to reinforce our team in the area of Application Infrastructures, more specifically the Advanced Computing team, as a Science Manager.
Support the management of computing calls, for HPC or other advanced computing modalities;
Manage the contracts between FCT and the national advanced computing centres;
Participate in international meetings and working groups, namely in European digital programmes;
Attend stakeholders or applicants to the Advanced Computing calls and European Digital Programmes;
Support working groups such as the advisory committee, technical evaluation committees, scientific evaluation and platform access.
Higher education, preferably with components in the area of Science Management, Management, IT or equivalent;
Ability to communicate in Portuguese and English;
Experience in performing similar functions;
Availability to travel;
Nice to have :
Knowledge and / or experience in tenders for the allocation and subsequent use of computer resources, such as PRACE, RED.
ES or other networks of this type;
Experience of participation in European funding programmes, as a representative of your institution and / or member state (NCP- National Contact Point, Expert, member of support offices for projects with European funding, others).
Possibility of developing services and infrastructures to promote advancement in science;
