We’re looking for an experienced Deal Desk head who is equal parts sales driven, and obsessed by operational improvement and analytics.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will partner with functional leads, mainly Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, Finance and Legal, to ensure that all deals are executed with velocity and accuracy.
At the same time, you analyze and act on the metrics to guarantee process efficiency and general improvement on all deal related metrics, as well as the relevant feedback loop to other teams, like Product and Marketing.
The Deal Desk responsibilities are :
Visibility on the exact status of each deal
Facilitate and streamline internal deal processes
Define the deal standards (together w / teams, for Product fit, Pricing, Legal)
Trigger and manage nonstandard deal committees (Product fit, Pricing, Legal)
Guarantee process automation and data accuracy
The ideal candidate is an excellent project manager, with a sales driven mind, with great critical and analytical thinking, that is supported by a good understanding on how to deliver technical deals.
On the soft skills level, is someone that will be highly respected and trusted at all levels of the organization, by having the ability to understand all sides and have a good judgement to make the best decisions.
Also, his person will work well under pressure.
This position will be based in one of our Portugal offices (Lisbon, Porto or Coimbra) and will report to the VP of Operations.
Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy and consistency in all deals
Engage with all relevant stakeholders to accelerate deal velocity
Collaborate with involved parties to identify acceptable options to facilitate deal closure
Respond to, manage, and facilitate exception approval requests, including special pricing, legal terms, or deal structures in a timely and efficient manner from receipt to resolution
Provide input, guidance and approvals on deal structure; support sales in evaluating deals and ensuring adherence to revenue recognition policies
Drive approvals from internal, cross-functional stakeholders for non-standard terms and conditions
Partner with the finance team for the deal pricing, both for process efficiency as standards definition
Partner with the legal team on the contracts, both for process efficiency as standards definition
Support training and enablement to the sales teams to improve efficiency, reduce sales cycle times and drive higher sales productivity, including continuous training on quoting and closing deals
Working with management and the wider teams to drive operational efficiency and input into as well as sometimes co-owning process improvements
8+ years of experience, with at least +5 management experience
2+ years of proven success in Enterprise SaaS / B2B Industry, Deal Desk, Bid team, Finance, Sales Operations or Pricing experience
Data analysis and financial modelling experience, with a good knowledge of financial metrics, including pricing components of SaaS deals
Strong understanding of deal process principles
Customer-focused,organized, innovative and with strong attention to details
Excellent communicator, self-aware and open to feedback
Strong business acumen, strong reporting and analytics, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and proven project management skills
Great ability to multitask and prioritize
Strong quantitative skills and highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce.com, well as with CPQ tool or similar
Experience in presenting structured recommendations to senior executives
Great interpersonal skills and credibility
Experience in a high-growth tech SaaS company is an important plus
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a highly quantitative discipline, MBA a plus
