What we do?
In FCCN's Scientific Knowledge Area, our main mission is to ensure that the teaching and research community has access to prestigious scientific information sources;
promote open access to national scientific production and streamline the management and access to information on science and technology in Portugal, through structuring programs of articulation between information systems to support science and teaching activities.

FCCN seeks motivated and interested people in the technological area, who will join a team highly specialized in serving the national education and science community, developing quality and innovative services, whose purpose is to boost the functioning and success of the entities that are part of the higher education and research system.
To help us in this mission we intend to reinforce our team with a Science Manager who will develop their activities in the fields of open science and science management.
As part of a co-funded project, we are looking for a Science Manager to join our multidisciplinary teams in a very specific mission that will last until 2023.
Your responsibilities during this period will be :
Ensure, in articulation with internal teams and suppliers, the technical and financial execution of the funded project;
In articulation with and with the support of the business areas, carrying out : technical studies, technical and functional analysis, requirements gathering, specifications, implementation control, tests and support to operation;
Ensure the support of the community in the use of the services provided;
At least a Bachelors Degree;
Project management knowledge and experience, including planning, monitoring and evaluation components;
Experience in functional analysis, producing studies and technical reports;
Experience in preparing documentation that translates business requirements for subsequent implementation by IT development teams;
Experience managing, monitoring and active participation in projects distributed by various teams and suppliers;
Fluency in Portuguese and English, written and spoken, namely ability to write reports and make presentations in both languages.

Possibility of developing services and infrastructures to promote advancement in science;
