Viana do Castelo plant, Portugal
Key Resposibilities :
Supports LA / GS SCM on multi-plant material allocation issues incl. decision making
Sense of urgency and drives escalation to avoid internal / external line stoppages
Establishment of a global coordination of all involved and potentially affected plants
Drives continuous improvements of material planning tools & processes to mitigate supply & inventory risks proactively as there is no material planning standard for all BorgWarner locations
Logistics chain (Tier1 TierN) analysis and optimization in case of required bottleneck management
Ensuring and restoring BorgWarner's ability to supply in the event of a multi-plant supply bottleneck
Identification of system-relevant components and their demand situation
Obtaining and presenting all necessary information regarding supply commitments and their agreement with the supply base
Screening of the supply chain (Tier1 TierN) to identify potential backup supply sources incl. supply capability
Central contact point for logistic function and material planners
Pro-active APO analysis to ensure future delivery capability including their replenishment time, taking into account the current market situation
Lesson learned transfer into the organization and training to minimize future risks
Escalation / Conflict management :
Resilient to stress and frustration and remains calm in tense situations
Involvement of purchasing functions in case of price and delivery condition negotiations
Involvement of global and local purchasing functions in case of contractual volume expansion of the supply base
Involvement of global functions such as SDE in case of launch problems or non-compliance with manufacturing quality requirements
Involvement of risk management in the event of an impending supply disruption and associated shutdown of a production line of our customer base.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in related field
Detailed understanding of logistics functions and their operations in the automotive sector
Strong material planning and inbound / outbound experience with multi-plant exposure
Multi-plant logistics experience : Need to know SAP and must learn the plant specific differences related to material transactions
Excellent knowledge in SAP
Excellent knowledge MS Office
Well-developed ability to work in a team
Temporary management and leadership ability of cross functional teams from local and global matrix functions
Strongly result oriented
Fluent in English with strong communication skills
