Job summary As Pfizer oncology continues to expand globally, we are now seeking a Medical advisor Oncology in Belgium to support our growing cancer portfolio.

The ideal candidate holds a MD or a medical scientific degree with PhD, has documented experience from medical affairs, preferentially in oncology or hematology and acts proactively with a scientific mindset and strong communication and collaboration skills for the best of cancer patients.

Role Description The Medical Advisor Oncology will be responsible to develop strategic partnerships with internal and external key stakeholders during the entire lifecycle of Pfizer Oncology products She / he provides focused relevant information in response to customer-

stated needs in order to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive business needs at the national, regional, and corporate level Acts on national level and is a key member of the Cluster Western Europe She / He will work in a cross-

functional, national and international team to maximize the value of Pfizer portfolio in country and at regional level She / He acts according to the high standards of compliance, ethics, and safety of Pfizer products In this role, the Medical Advisor will report directly into the RegionalSr.

Medical Director Cluster Western Europe Main Responsibilities - The Medical Advisor (MA) acts as a bridge between research and commercial functions -

Interacts with and develops enduring relationships with key opinion leaders on national and regional level according to Pfizer franchise -

Spearheads the generation and dissemination of unbiased clinical and scientific information - Provides scientific / medical expertise to a therapeutic area or to a given product -

Dissemination of recent scientific knowledge / data on Oncology portfolio in approved indications - Communication of recent scientific knowledge / data on Oncology portfolio in off-

label indications and on Oncology products in development upon request - Works and collaborates with medical societies relevant to Oncology -

  • Initiates and runs advisory boards, expert and scientific meetings on local and regional level; - Delivers quality scientific presentations at internal and external meetings;
  • Supports local approval of scientific material produced in country e. g local marketing material - Takes a leadership role in the national reimbursement submission process Contribution to franchise strategy and tactical plan -
  • Medical input into assigned brand cross functional team and where necessary into local customer-based marketing initiatives -

    Develop a medical strategy- and tactical plan on national and regional (cluster) level - Works close with medical cluster colleagues on cluster activities and projects Support of early / clinical development -

    Communicates customer feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies - Leads scientific exchange with KOLs and cooperative groups -

    Works closely with Early and Clinical Research teams to maximize Pfizer research opportunities on national and regional level -

    Follows up and works close with customer and regional teams on non-Pfizer sponsored research projects - Solicits feedback on clinical trial programs and protocols (feasibility) from potential investigators for Oncology portfolio -

    Identifies local data gaps, gives study planning input, helps in the site selection and feasibility assessment Budget responsibility -

    Responsibility for annual planning and continuous monthly monitoring of the medical budget including research projects and national projects.

    Others - Collaborates with the Health and Value and Outcomes Research Department - Work with Medical Information on customer enquiries concerning drug safety issues for Pfizer Oncology products -

    Provides medical / scientific support and training for internal staff or vendors - Responsibility to develop a clear, straight forward medical plan and implementation of strategy and tactics.

    Qualification As Medical Advisor Oncology, you have : A MD or a higher level science degree (biomedical, pharmacist) An in-

    depth knowledge of the therapeutic and market context Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry, Department Medical Affairs preferred A good understanding of :

  • Process of drug development
  • Clin research as well as the ability to critically evaluate clinical studies and publication
  • the national and regional health environment including its structure, policy, key members and scientific societies You are fluent in business English and local language (Dutch / French) You are an engaged and motivated personality willing to improve outcome of cancer patients If you enjoy delivering ambitious results in a very challenging environment, being part of a dynamic team with national and regional responsibilities, then this might be the position you are looking for.
