About the job :

Due to continued growth our capabilities in Portugal are expanding and we are looking for Java Developers to join our team.

This is a really exciting time to join us and work with some of the worlds best known brands and retailers such as Bosch, DFS, Johnson & Johnson, MAC, Nestlé, Sainsbury’s, Selfridges, Shell, Specialized, Tempur and Tiffany & Co.

We are looking for Java Developers with a strong understanding of web-based technologies. The successful candidates will be involved in application development using several java based technologies (serverless applications, containerised Java applications) and development of RESTful APIs.

    We need you to be really great at :

  • Extensive Java development experience (Ideally Java8)
  • Experience of writing complex systems and defining and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with one or more additional language (examples : JavaScript, Typescript, Scala, Kotlin, Groovy, Go, Python, Ruby).
  • An understanding of both modern and traditional Design Patterns and the ability to choose the best solutions for our customers.
  • Must have worked in a CI / CD driven project and have a strong understanding of a DevOps approach to development.
  • A Quality First mindset, backed by strong unit testing skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • If you know any of this even better

  • Have previously worked on or with eCommerce back-end systems
  • Have experience of enterprise content management and creating RESTful APIs in microservices environments
  • Have a good knowledge of Spring and Maven
  • Be familiar with deploying and working with software on at least one major public cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure)
  • Be a TDD practitioner with a strong focus on producing readable, well architected and thoroughly tested code
  • Have previous experience working within Agile software delivery teams

    In our Lisbon office, you will join a team of other specialists who are always ready to help each other. The team is part of our Wunderman Thompson Commerce network, and works in coordination with our Local and EMEA client leads.

    Please note that this job is a full-time position located in Portugal, but the selection process will be conducted in English.
